Berlin, NH – White Mountains Community College (WMCC) was recently ranked 20th out of 865 two-year colleges across the nation for best three-year graduation rates by the Chronical of Higher Education. The data released by the U.S. Department of Education analyzed students who completed an associate degree or earned a certificate at the same institution within three years. Students who transferred and then graduated from another institution are not included in the data.
“We’re honored to be recognized on a national scale for providing an exceptional, affordable option in higher education for people living in northern New Hampshire and seeing our students complete their education quickly so they can pursue new professional opportunities,” said Chuck Lloyd, president of WMCC. “We take pride in helping our students be successful in preparing for future job opportunities throughout the state and for transferring to four-year colleges and universities.”
For over 50 years, WMCC has provided high-quality, accessible education. Today, WMCC offers 48 associate degree and certificate programs, and a variety of training options in partnership with local businesses, online and in-person during the day or in the evening at the main campus in Berlin or at the academic centers in Littleton and North Conway.
“Whether you’re a recent high school graduate or an adult learner looking to upgrade your skills or start a new career, we are focused on your success and helping you get to where you want to go,” Lloyd said.
The fall semester at WMCC began August 31, but students can still register for late Start 8-week courses, which begin online on October 26 and include general education electives, business, criminal justice, early childhood education and industrial mechanics classes. High school students living in household negatively impacted by COVID-19 are eligible for the Governor’s Office for Emergency Relief and Recovery (GOFERR) tuition assistance, which can be applied to the Late Start courses.
