Enfield, New Hampshire native Kaylee Felix, an Early Childhood Education student enrolled at River Valley Community College (RVCC) in Claremont, was recently recognized for her academic integrity, scholastic success and leadership by Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year college and associate degree students.
Felix was one of just 50 of the nation’s top community college students named to the 2026 Phi Theta Kappa All-USA Academic Team. The All-USA program is one of the most prestigious academic honors for students seeking an associate degree or other educational certificate. In recognition of this distinction, Felix also received a $3,000 scholarship.
As the highest scoring New Hampshire applicant in the All-USA Academic Team competition, Felix was also named a 2026 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar, an award that recognizes high-achieving students with an intent to transfer to a four-year college after graduation. One scholar is selected from each state and is awarded a $2,750 scholarship sponsored by The Coca-Cola Foundation, The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa.
“Phi Theta Kappa highlights three pillars – scholarship, leadership and service. Kaylee epitomizes these ideals having served as Phi Theta Kappa president, student government association president and member of the Community College of New Hampshire’s board all while excelling academically and holding a job,” said Alfred Williams, President, RVCC.
Felix enrolled in the Early Childhood Education associate degree program at RVCC in fall 2023. She attends classes online while working at Little Folks Daycare, a childcare center in Enfield founded by Felix’s grandmother and subsequently run by her mother.
“I want to continue the family legacy serving families in my community. I never in a million years expected my work to be recognized by not one, but two, awards and scholarships. I’m speechless,” Felix said.
Felix anticipates graduating from RVCC in spring 2028 with an associate degree in Early Childhood Education and a certificate in Social Services. After graduation, she plans to transfer her credits to continue her studies at a four-year institution to receive a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
