Apprenticeship programs are growing across New Hampshire thanks to partnerships between employers and the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH).

Recently, CCSNH’s ApprenticeshipNH team worked with BAE Systems of Nashua to develop the company’s first NH apprenticeship program for precision inspectors, launched this past summer. The BAE precision inspector apprenticeship recruited an initial cohort of eight full-time new employees, who take coursework at Nashua Community College while they apply what they learn on the job, earning wages.

The collaboration will continue with a second cohort of students starting in January.

ApprenticeshipNH is an initiative of the Community College System of New Hampshire that works with NH employers to create “earn-while-you-learn” onboarding experiences for newly-hired employees, and has been cited as a creative way for businesses to address workforce needs.  Find more information here.

This summer, BAE Systems recognized its apprentices’ completion of the instructional components at NCC in a ceremony with many BAE management members on hand to congratulate the apprentices.
