Running Start - Registration

In order to receive college credit for CCSNH courses taken through Running Start, it is necessary for qualified students to register through the college. The cost to each student is one hundred dollars ($100) per course plus the cost of the textbook(s) if the high school does not provide them. Ask your instructor what the registration deadline is. Students planning to enroll in an English or math course may be required to take an assessment test such as Accuplacer. These tests are offered for a very small fee at the college or high school prior to registration.

How do I register for a CCSNH course through Running Start?

1.  Complete a PRS registration form distributed to all students in each PRS class at the beginning of the semester.

2.  Attach to the registration form a check or money order for $100 (per course) made payable to CCSNH. Credit card payments may be permitted if designated on the registration form used by the PRS Coordinator.

3.  Return completed registration form with payment to the PRS teacher by the date (usually within 2 weeks) agreed upon by the PRS Coordinator servicing the high school.

4. Completed registration forms and payments are forwarded to the PRS Coordinator for processing by the Registrar at the PRS Coordinator’s campus.

If I drop the course after I have registered, can I get a refund of the $100 fee?

Any student who has paid the PRS tuition fee but decides to drop the course within the first two weeks of registration may be eligible for a full tuition refund. Obtain a Drop form here or from your instructor, which must be completed and returned to your instructor within the specified time frame.

How do I withdraw from a course, and what grade will I be given?

You must complete a Drop form to officially withdraw from a course. Withdrawing from a course prior to the completion of 60% of the scheduled duration of a course will result in a grade of "W" (Withdraw). After that time, a student must complete the Drop form and request that the instructor issue a grade of "WP" (Withdraw - Pass) or "WF" (Withdraw - Fail) depending on the student's standing in the class at the time of the drop.A "WP" is not calculated into your GPA. A "WF" is calculated into your GPA as an "F".
