WORKREADYNH PROGRAM CELEBRATES 2,200 GRADUATES WITH CONTINUED GROWTH

WorkReadyNH, a tuition-free program offered statewide through the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH), provides job seekers and career builders with the opportunity to develop essential workplace skills.  WorkReadyNH was honored with an Editor’s choice award in the “Best Effort to Improve NH’s Workforce Skills” category of the New Hampshire Business Review’s 2014 BOB Awards.  Since then, WorkReadyNH has continued to grow and is now celebrating its 2,200 graduate milestone.  “I am very pleased to report that the WorkReadyNH program across the state has been very successful and now has more than 2,200 graduates” said Beth Doiron who is the Director of College Access and DoE programs at CCSNH. “In addition, as of July 1, 2015, the WorkReadyNH grant funded by the Office of Workforce Opportunity at the Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED) has extended our contract for four years through June 2019”.

The current WorkReadyNH 2016 schedule includes classes in all of the following New Hampshire locations:

Berlin, Claremont, Colebrook, Concord, Conway, Keene, Laconia, Lebanon, Littleton, Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth, Rochester and Tamworth.

WorkReadyNH participants take part in a 60 hour soft-skills class based on a simulated workplace setting.  The soft-skills class is in addition to online training modules designed to improve hard skills in areas such as Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information and Locating Information (critical thinking and problem solving).  Successful graduates of the WorkReadyNH program receive a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) through ACT as well as a Community College WorkReadyNH Certificate.
