Concord, N.H. - Ron Rioux of Exeter was recently appointed Vice Chancellor of the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH).

As Vice Chancellor, Rioux will oversee internal operations of the central office that serves the seven-college system. Rioux will also focus on business partnerships that strengthen academic offerings and operational practices of the college system.

Rioux’s experience spans the private and public sector, with a focus on NH institutions. He was President and CEO of St. Mary’s Bank from 1993-2008. He served as a “loaned executive” to both the NH Department of Resources and Economic Development and the Governor’s office. In 2008, Rioux was appointed to the CCSNH Board of Trustees, where he chaired the Finance and Audit Committees. Rioux served as interim President of Manchester Community College in 2009-10.

He is Vice Chairman of the Board of St. Mary’s Bank, and was founder and vice chairman of America’s Credit Union Museum Foundation. He previously served as a board member and vice chairman of Catholic Medical Center; a board member and vice chairman of RiverWoods of Exeter, and vice chairman of the board of New Hampshire Catholic Charities.

Rioux holds a degree in business management from Southern New Hampshire University, and an honorary Doctor of Law degree from St. Anselm’s College in Manchester.

“Ron Rioux is one of New Hampshire’ s most respected business leaders and someone whose commitment to the State is deep and enduring,” said CCSNH Chancellor Ross Gittell. “I am very pleased that Ron now brings his expertise to CCSNH, focusing on operations and outreach to the private sector as partners in our efforts to enhance the impact of New Hampshire’s community colleges.”
