NHTI hosted its third annual Winter Fling fundraiser last month, raising more than $38,000 for scholarships and technical equipment.

“It was another smashing success,” reports Lynn Kilchenstein, President of NHTI. “All of the dancers performed beautifully and our 500 guests enjoyed a great night of food, live music and dancing – all for a great cause.”

The winning performances included:

  • Jeremy Woodward and Erin Girzone (pictured) won the Judges Panel “Best Overall” and the “People’s Choice Award” determined by audience vote.
  • Ed Ferrero and Nadine Ferrero won Most Creative for their “Masochism Tango.”
  • Scott Schermerhorn and Lisa Schermerhorn won Best Smile.
  • Joe Kenney and Wendy Keeler won Most Theatrical.
  • Joe Kasper and Becky Kinhan won Best Hip Movement for their Rumba performance.
  • Concord Fire Chief Dan Andrus won the Hot Stuff Award with his dance partner, Gayle Braley.
  • Father and daughter couple, Gary Tasker and Jennifer Tasker Pfeifer won Best Chemistry.
  • Shawn Tewksbury and Kris Lucas, decked out in 1950’s garb including a poodle skirt, won Best Costumes.
  • WJYY DJ Mya won the Most Entertaining award for her comedy ballet performed with her dad, Larry Frates.
  • Dr. Susan Lynch and John Thomas won Best Theme for their 1920’s Charleston set to “Money Makes the World Go Round.”
