Community Colleges of NH Foundation: Mission of Access
In 2011, the Community Colleges of NH Foundation awarded more than $2.4 million in scholarships to nearly 3,500 students at the seven community colleges statewide.
With community college enrollments on the rise, students facing sustained economic challenges, and the need for new skills to keep pace with changing workforce demands, there is strong need for the Foundation’s assistance. The Foundation awards both need-based and program-based scholarships.
The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation was incorporated in 2000 as a 501(c)(3) corporation. Its mission is to support the Community College System of New Hampshire and its seven colleges by making higher education more accessible. The Foundation does this by providing student scholarship assistance, support for innovative programs, and instructional facility enhancement.
The Foundation supports CCSNH’s mission through its efforts to strengthen the state’s economy by increasing access to higher education and training. Ninety-five percent of students at NH’s community colleges are in-state residents, constituting a local workforce that supports our state’s business and industry.
The Foundation manages nearly 180 different funds for the seven community colleges, including memorial funds, program support funds, and capital project funds. Whether you have personally benefitted from an education at one of the Community Colleges or you would like to support the Colleges because of the important role they play in your community, we invite you to explore the opportunities for involvement by visiting our website at www.ccsnh.edu/foundation.
