CCSNH/Fisher Cats Reading Challenge

CCSNH Fisher Cats Reading Challenge

For the fourth year, CCSNH has partnered with the NH Fisher Cats on a middle school Reading Challenge program that rewards extra-curricular reading with free tickets and special recognition at the ballpark.  More than 7,200 students completed the CCSNH Reading Challenge this year by reading at least five books outside their assigned work.   Fungo, the Fisher Cats mascot, held assemblies at some forty NH schools to promote literacy and encourage participation in the Reading Challenge.  And on five special nights at Fisher Cats’ Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, the students were honored in a pre-game parade around the field.

Ten schools had 100% participation and students, faculty and staff members were invited to a May 30 check presentation, where a total of $5,000 donated by the Fisher Cats Foundation was awarded to the three finalist schools—Bakersville Elementary ($3,000), St. Joseph Regional Junior High School ($1,000) and Newport Montessori School ($1,000).
