SCOPE OF WORK:  To assist in NHTI’s efforts to provide comprehensive corporate/community education and training programs that meet the needs of business and industry organizations.  This position reports to the Director of the Business Training Center at NHTI.

 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in business administration, engineering, IT, or related field.  Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

 

Experience: Two years’ of experience in project management, business administration, human resource management, technology, marketing /sales, corporate training, or related field with responsibility for program planning, monitoring and evaluation.  Each additional year of approved work experience may be substitute for one year of required formal education. 

 

License/Certification:  Valid NH driver’s license or access to transportation for statewide travel.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Solid project management and computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Access.  Knowledge of adult learning styles. Knowledge and understanding of competitive issues facing business and industry.  Ability to manage training programs, conduct needs assessment and facilitate group meetings. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer aided applications in business and industry.

 

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of the policies and regulations relevant to the program area in which assigned.  Knowledge of grant proposal writing. Knowledge of best practices in corporate training.  Knowledge of planning and budgeting strategies.   Working knowledge of research and planning methods and planning techniques.  General knowledge of current social and economic problems.  Ability to detect and define problem areas and causes and to create and develop effective solutions, including the exercise of sound judgment in evaluating situations, planning action, making decisions and setting priorities.  Ability to work independently to develop new or alternative approaches to meet changing and variable conditions.  Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of government and the general public.  Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.
