SCOPE OF WORK: To perform duties in the Maintenance Department as assigned at Manchester Community College. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Engineer II at MCC.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assists in maintaining all existing college buildings following guidelines.
- Provides assistance to facilities as required.
- Assists in construction of building projects.
- Responsible for general maintenance of the fields, including but not limited to, watering, cutting, and
- lining.
- Painting and cosmetic work.
- Operates grass cutting machinery; landscapes and maintains grounds, including cutting and trimming
- grass.
- Observes sound safety practices such as wearing hearing protectors while operating any grass cutting
- machinery on campus.
- Reports any safety or building issues to management and the Maintenance Foreman on a timely basis.
- Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations including, but not limited to,
- health and safety policies, State of New Hampshire Sexual Harassment Policy and all civil rights laws.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of high school or its equivalent.
Experience: None required. License/Certification:
Valid Driver’s License or access to transportation for Statewide travel.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Some knowledge of proper English usage and grammar. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to learn assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed departmental procedures. Ability to make simple arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately and with reasonable speed. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.
