Foundation awards $20,000 From the Agnes M. Lindsay Trust

Concord, NH... The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation is pleased to announce the 2008 recipients of the Agnes Lindsay Trust $1,000 Scholarships.

The Agnes M. Lindsay Trust scholarships are awarded to deserving students from rural communities in the states of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation awards twenty scholarships annually. The 2008 recipients are:

• From the White Mountains Community College Campus in Berlin: Carolyn Buth (Guildhall, VT.), Jason LaFlamme (Gorham), Nicholas Marois (Berlin) Monica Stevens (Columbia), Cynthia Taylor (Lisbon);
• From the River Valley Community College Campus in Claremont: Sherry Brand (Claremont), Kerri Fernandez (Deering), Michelle Michael (Plymouth, VT), Emily F. Smith (Alstead), Kayley Touchette (Croydon);
• From the NHTI Concord’s Community College Campus: Michael Achenbach (Effingham), Shelley Bisson (Raymond), Amy Cadoret (Gilmanton), Meagan Caron ( Berlin), Kathryn Foss (Webster), Laura Newman (Hillsborough), Amanda Sargent (Strafford), Marlene Smith (Hancock), Michael Ugarte (Hillsborough);

From the Great Bay Community College Campus at Stratham: Courtney Irvine (Barrington).

The Agnes M. Lindsay Trust supports many colleges, universities, and private secondary schools through scholarship funds annually.  Agnes M. Lindsay was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts in 1870. She was married to Edwin P. Lindsay, who predeceased her in 1925.  They owned a summer home in Bridgewater, New Hampshire. Mrs. Lindsay passed away on February 16, 1937. As stipulated in her Will, a Trust was established.
