$39,000 in NASA Space Grant/ PSNH Scholarships Awarded
Latest Round of Awards: $19,500

Concord, NH... The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation today announced an additional $19,500 in NASA Space Grant/PSNH Scholarships for the year. Within the past year, the Foundation has awarded $39,000 in NASA/PSNH scholarships.

The scholarship is open to students in the Community College System of New Hampshire who are pursuing a career of interest to NASA and PSNH in the fields of Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Teaching Mathematics or Teaching Science. The award is $1,500 per student.

The award recipients listed by College are:

  • From the Great Bay Community College in Stratham: Matthew Dobben (Newmarket - biotechnology)
  • From the Manchester Community College: Brian Gentile (Rochester - Energy Science), Hugh McNally (Manchester - Energy Science)
  • From the Lakes Region Community College in Laconia: Cheryl Fowler (Laconia - Energy Services & Technology)
  • From NHTI, Concord's Community College: Brian Beauman (Andover - Teacher Education/Science), Natalie Cate (Londonderry -Teacher Education/Mathematics) Kathleen Chartier (Nashua -Teacher Education/Mathematics), Timothy Giotas (Hooksett-Teacher Education/Mathematics), Joanne Goupil (Manchester - Teacher Education/Mathematics), Jaelle Johnson (Northfield - Teacher Education/Mathematics) Catherine Kilday (Canterbury - Teacher Education/Science), Patricia MacFarlane (Hancock - Teacher Education/Chemistry), Kelley A. Wheeler-Morrissette (Manchester-Teacher Education/Biology).

This scholarship program is made possible through a grant from NASA, the National Aeronautic Space Agency, through the NH Space Grant Consortium and Public Service of New Hampshire. This partnership began in the year 2000, and has since awarded 271 scholarships among the System of colleges.

The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation's mission is to support the Community College System of New Hampshire by making higher education more accessible. CCSNH is New Hampshire's statewide system of two-year colleges, offering associate degrees, professional training, and transfer pathways to four-year degrees. Last year, the Foundation awarded over $700,000 in scholarships among the seven Colleges.
