"Since I can remember I've always wanted to help others. For most of my adult life, that was helping my husband and those around me. My husband had Crohn's disease since a young age. This past year, after decades of marriage, he passed away. I was talking to one of his nurses, she said I should do something with all that I've learned.  She said I should become a nurse. I actually had never thought about it. I suppose the schooling seemed too intimidating for me.  But as I thought about it, I felt that becoming a nurse would give me the opportunity to help others and give back to the system that had helped us. In my first semester, I proved to myself that I can handle the schooling. From my experience with my husband, I know that I can handle the job. Your scholarship would help me attain my goal."
