Matthew Newland – Profile Matthew Newland was elected Vice-Chairperson of the Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation in November of 2008. He is employed as a Principal Contract Specialist for the Advanced Systems and Technology Line of Business at BAE Systems in Nashua, NH. In that capacity, he negotiates and administers Government and Commercial defense contracts. He has worked at BAE systems for ten years. Prior to joining BAE Systems, he was with the Department of Safety in Concord, NH. He served two terms as a State Representative to the New Hampshire General Court where he was appointed to the Commerce, Small Business, Consumer Affairs & Economic Development Committee. He also worked as a Business Manager for Nu-Wave Electric in Goffstown. In addition to the Community Colleges of NH Foundation Board, he served as a Director on the boards of the Community Services Council of NH, the UNH Alumni Association and as a Trustee on the University System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees. In 2006, he was recognized as one of the “40 Under Forty” by the NH Union Leader for being “A young leader making NH better.” He received a BS in Business Administration from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at UNH in Durham, NH. He is an alumnus of the NHTI, Concord's Community College and a graduate of Concord High School. Matt lives in Concord with his wife and two children. |
