American Automobile Association Donates $15k for Scholarships

Concord, NH... American Automobile Association (AAA) Northern New England recently contributed $15,000 to the Community Colleges of NH Foundation to be used to award  scholarships to students attending the state’s Community Colleges.   

AAA Northern New England has contributed over $255,000 to the Foundation over the past ten years to create an endowment which provides financial assistance to students studying automotive technology at any of the four of the Community Colleges which offer the program:  White Mountains Community College in Berlin, Lakes Region Community College in Laconia, Manchester Community College, and Nashua Community College. 

Claudette Mahar, Community College System Trustee and Foundation Chairperson accepted the gift and added:  “At the Community Colleges, the two year degree program provides students with the skills and knowledge needed for a rewarding career in the automotive service industry.  We appreciate AAA’s support as our students evolve from yesterday’s mechanic to today’s skilled technician.”

The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation was incorporated in February 2000 and is a 501(c)(3) corporation. The Foundation is overseen by a Board of Directors. The Foundation’s mission is to support the Community College System of New Hampshire by making higher education more accessible.
