$24,000 Awarded to Community College Students

Concord, NH... The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation has awarded $24,000 in PSNH/NASA Space Grant Scholarships for the spring semester  The scholarship program is made possible through a partnership between NASA, the National Aeronautic Space Agency and Public Service of New Hampshire, the State’s largest electric utility.

The $1,500 scholarships are available to students in New Hampshire’s community colleges who are pursuing a career of interest to PSNH and NASA.  The following students received scholarships:

From NHTI-Concord’s Community College:

Justin Johnson, (Laconia), Teacher Education – Mathematics & Physics;

Raya-Jean Zaczyk, (Bow), Teacher Education-Science.

From Nashua Community College:

James Harris, (Swanzey), Aviation Technology;
Michael Munoz-Ramirez, (Hudson), Aviation Technology;
Daniel Rocheford, (Pelham), Aviation Technology;

From Manchester Community College:

NASA and PSNH have partnered with the Community College System for the past ten years, enabling over 370 scholarships to be awarded to community college students state-wide.

The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation was incorporated in February 2000 as a 501(c)(3) corporation. The Foundation is overseen by a Board of Directors. The Foundation’s mission is to support the Community College System of New Hampshire and make higher education more accessible.

The Community College System of NH consists of seven colleges: Great Bay Community College in Portsmouth; Lakes Region Community College in Laconia; Manchester Community College; Nashua Community College; NHTI - Concord's Community College; River Valley Community College in Claremont and Keene; and White Mountains Community College in Berlin.
