Student Information System (SIS)

The college SIS enables a student to view his or her class schedule, financial aid status, student account and grades. The SIS also enables students to verify and update personal information including email address and emergency contact information.

Your personal information in the SIS was used to create your Blackboard Learning System account.

**Important

To avoid Blackboard Learning System problems and enable email contact with your Professors, please do the following:

Login to SIS (instructions below) to make sure your SIS email address is current and accurate to avoid Blackboard problems.

If your SIS email address is not accurate, your instructors will not be able to contact you.

Any U.S. mail address changes must be done by contacting the Registrar’s Office in person.

Please Login to the SIS and update your email address at each college where you are registered for a course:

  1. Go to each college’s website (find NHCTC college website addresses at http://www.ccsnh.edu/locations.html)

  2. Click on the "SIS" link

  3. Click "Enter Secure Area"

  4. Enter your User ID
    • The first time you use the SIS, your User ID is your social security number (SSN) or
    • It is the 9 digit student ID number the college generated for you if you did not provide your SSN.
  5. Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
    • If you are using SIS for the first time, your PIN is your 6 digit date of birth (mmddyy) OR the last 6 digits of your User ID.
  6. Click "Login"

  7. When you login for the first time, you will see a message that your PIN has expired and you will be prompted to change your PIN.
    • When prompted for your OLD PIN, enter your 6 digit date of birth (mmddyy) or the last 6 digits of your SSN (social security number) or last 6 digits of your user ID.
    • To create a NEW PIN, enter exactly 6 digits (no letters are allowed). To verify the new pin, you will be prompted to re-enter the same 6 digits.
  8. Note: SIS will not let you reuse your birth date for a new pin.

  9. Security Question

    • Enter a simple question with an answer only you know. Enter a one word answer (Please do not include any punctuation, numbers or dates in your answer.)
  10. Click “Personal Information” in the Main Menu

Blackboard

  1. Go to Blackboard: http://www.nhctc.blackboard.com

  2. Click the Login button

  3. Enter your NEW USERNAME:
    • all lowercase, no spaces - first letter of your first name, your full last name, last (5) five digits of your college ID# (usually your social security number)
      • Example:
        • Deborah Bostic’s college ID# is 123456789
        • Thus, her new username would be dbostic56789
    • If you try (all lowercase, no spaces) your first letter of your first name, last name and the last five digits of your social security number for your username and it does not work, you probably have generated student ID #.
      • Contact the Registrar’s office at the college where you registered for your system generated student ID#.
  4. Enter your NEW INITIAL PASSWORD:

    • Last (6) six digits of your college ID#
      • Example:
        • Deborah Bostic’s college ID# is 123456789
        • Thus, Deborah Bostic’s new initial password would be 456789
    • Important to ensure your account security :
      • After you login to Blackboard for the first time, change your initial password to one you can remember easily:
        • My Institution page >
        • Personal Information >

        • Scroll down and click the Submit button on the bottom right
    • Important to enable your Professor to contact you by email:

        • My Institution page >
        • Personal Information >

    • Please refer to the Online Learning section of http://www.ccsnh.edu more detailed information about Blackboard, online learning, software and hardware requirements, the Student Guide to Online Learning, etc.

    • If you are a returning student, are logged in to Blackboard, and cannot see your course links, you are logged into Blackboard with your old username and password.
