Ned Densmore, Treasurer

Ned Densmore

Ned Densmore is a retired bookseller who owned and operated the Village Bookstore in Littleton, New Hampshire. During his career he was also a Board member and Treasurer of the American Booksellers Association and New England Booksellers Association. He was named Small Business Person of the Year by SBANH In 1990 and received the Blue Chip Award for Excellence.

Mr. Densmore has been active in the community, having served on the boards of several organizations including the Northern New Hampshire Foundation, Northern Community Investment Corporation and the Ammonoosuc Community Health Center.

In addition to being a bookseller, Ned is known for his political backround. He served as a state representative for four terms in the 1980's, earning the title of Minority Whip, and returned to the State House for another term as a state representative in 2002, where he was appointed to the position of Deputy Minority Whip. He was a member of the House Appropriations Committee and served on the Governor's Budget Committees in 1996, 1998, and 2004. For many years he was Moderator for the Lafayette Regional and Profile School districts.

Mr. Densmore is a former Trustee of the University System of New Hampshire where he chaired the Finance Committee. He received a BA in American Literature from Boston University in 1963.
