FAQ

FAQ

How are the colleges in the Community College System linked?

The system consists of seven colleges: White Mountains Community College, River Valley Community College, NHTI-Concord's Community College, Lakes Region Community College, Manchester Community College, Nashua Community College, and Great Bay Community College, along with their associated academic centers. Each college is independently accreditedby the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. The Chancellor of the Community College System oversees the entire System. A central System Office provides administrative support to the Colleges.

What are the costs of attending?

Tuition costs for full-time attendance ranges from approximately $5,040 to $6,300 annually, depending on your course load and academic program. Additional comprehensive fees vary for each college. For the 2012-2013 academic year, in-state tuition is $210 per credit. Financial aid and scholarships can help to defray your educational costs.

Can my course credits be transferred to other colleges outside community college system?

Yes, the community colleges have extensive articulation (transfer) agreements with the University System of NH and many other colleges, both in NH and in other states. The terms and details will vary, so if you are interested in a transfer pathway, you should speak to an admissions or academic counselor as soon as possible. You can also go to www.NHTransfer.org which contains a database outlining the transfer from CCSNH to the University System of NH, Southern NH University, and Franklin Pierce University.

What are your admissions deadlines?

This depends on the program. Enrollment in some programs is limited and entry is competitive, and your application must be completed well in advance of the beginning of the semester. Other programs accept students right up to the time the semester begins. You need to check with the admissions office on the campus you are interested in to learn about application deadlines and the admissions timetable.

If you have other questions, you can contact the college you are interested in or e-mail the System Office at info@CCSNH.edu.
